Pop-culture's Negativity V's Good Vibes Perceived in Sketching
61
The act of sketching people is a beautiful thing. For me, I realized this evening that I must perceived a beautiful world around me with beautiful people, for this reflected in my sketches. However, most people who meet me know I never go around saying it's a wonderful world. And I never go around complimenting people. It could easily be misunderstood to believe I may even be bitter at times about my environment. Perhaps it's the political negativity that we are all fed, be it through mainstream media or pop-culture in general: that in turn reflects in this kind of negative vibe. It's remarkable that in sketching I perceive I actually do perceive beauty and elements of positivity all around me. Thus, it must be good for the soul, be it mental or emotional, and can aid better health. It just adds to my desire to sketch everyday.
The question I pose is, does being paid cash actually compare with this kind of reward? This experience when I'm in the act of sketching I know for a fact is far greater. However, after eight straight sketches, of people who volunteered to pose for me with such enthusiasm: I had become too tired to continue.
